One year ago, we had to wake up very early.
One year ago, my mom took the day off work to be with us.
One year ago, we sat in a waiting room.
One year ago, we put her hearing aid on, for the last time.
One year ago, we changed her into a hospital robe.
One year ago, we took her hearing aid out, for the last time.
One year ago, they wheeled her away, drowsy but happy.
One year ago, she woke up in pain and disoriented.
One year ago, she signed "I want Mommy", and I crawled into her hospital bed.
One year ago, she wore a bandage on her right ear.
One year ago, she received a cochlear implant.
One year ago, we began a brand new part of our journey.

Wonderful!
Congrats and happy anniversary to all the family.
Warmest!
Melissa--I've followed you this year with interest. We too celebrate our 5yo. son's 1st C.I. year this month! He too has struggled with the up's and down's as we've learned to adjust to the paths our journey has taken! Hang in there....and thanks for allowing all of us in cyberspace to have a "window" into your experiences!
godness me, how the time had flown so quick.
Well done to all concerned.
Wow- it has been a year! That seems crazy to me, I can't believe how fast a year can go by. You're all doing great!
Happy Hearing Anniversary!
Two years ago today I had my right ear done. Life-changing. I am so grateful for today's technology!
I've been reading your blog for quite some time and the progress Miss Kat has made within one year is truly amazing. Keep it up!
